Atlas of Firsts
Many children go through a stage where they are fascinated by firsts. This highly illustrated atlas will feed that fever for elementary school readers. Oversized and jam packed with information, the layout begins with a world view, featuring interesting tidbits of information (Who was the first person born on the Antarctic mainland? Who was Africa’s first female head of state?) from around the globe. Then each continent and major countries are afforded two pages of first facts. In addition to drawn maps and illustrations, photographs are scattered around the pages. While kids may learn something about geography, they will pore over this treasure trove of trivia and perhaps be inspired to do little more research.
